Clinical Nursing Supervisor

About the role

This leadership position involves overseeing nursing operations, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining effective communication among staff, medical teams, and administration. Primarily mobile, engaging in rounds across units, requiring frequent walking, standing, and lifting in a fast-paced setting with PPE usage per infection control policies. Serves patients of all age groups. Level 4 HIPAA role-based access, including restricted information.

Responsibilities

• Investigate operational issues, make administrative decisions, and consult with senior leaders as needed.
• Perform regular rounds on nursing units, observe resident care, and provide feedback to Nurse Managers.
• Lead responses during hospital codes and handle concerns from staff, patients, families, and physicians.
• Disseminate information about policies and procedures, and address safety hazards and legal issues.
• Collaborate to ensure appropriate staffing and facilitate nursing and medical staff cooperation.
• Assist with special projects, serve on committees to develop policies, and accept interim management roles.
• Perform other assigned duties to support hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with three years of progressive nursing experience.
• Current NY RN license and CPR certification.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, supervisory experience, nursing administration certification, ACLS.
