Clinical Nurse - Outpatient Surgery Center

About the Role

The OR Staff Nurse provides direct patient care in an outpatient surgery setting, managing pre/post-operative and ICU activities. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to nursing standards, with a focus on patient and family-centered care, safety, and quality compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Educating patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medications.
  • Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities and pursuing professional development.
  • Developing and documenting individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients.
  • Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers.

Requirements

  • Active RN license required.
  • Minimum of a nursing diploma or associate's degree in nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and less than 2 years of experience.
  • Pre/post-operative or ICU experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work safely, demonstrating alertness and adherence to protocols.
