Clinical Nurse - Operating Room

Role Overview

This position involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced, perioperative environment, supporting complex surgical procedures including cardiothoracic, lung transplants, vascular, and minimally invasive surgeries. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, education on illness management, and participation in safety, quality, and regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care within established standards.
• Develop and communicate individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medication administration, and injury management.
• Ensure patient safety and quality compliance, participating in professional development.
• Use critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license required.
• Experience in cardiothoracic nursing preferred; no prior experience required for entry-level.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a clinical setting.
