About the Role
A Laboratory Scientist responsible for performing and interpreting routine and specialized lab tests to support diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and analyzes specimens.
- Conducts quality control and maintains laboratory equipment.
- Ensures regulatory compliance and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
- Manages inventory and supports safety protocols.
- Adapts communication to meet patient needs.
- Conducts tests accurately and documents results.
- Troubleshoots equipment and complies with safety and regulatory standards.
- Participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Remains knowledgeable of applicable laws and standards, ensuring compliance and ethical conduct.
Physical demands include handling objects up to 100 pounds and working in environments with potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous waste.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field.
- Valid Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license or equivalent.
- Certification (ASCP, AMT, or AAB) within 90 days of hire.
