Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform and interpret routine and specialized laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, preparing, and analyzing specimens per established protocols
• Performing quality control, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Ensuring adherence to safety, accreditation, and compliance guidelines
• Documenting results accurately and escalating issues when necessary
• Participating in performance improvement and inventory management
• Communicating effectively with team members and patients, respecting privacy and protocols

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, laboratory science, or related field
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license or permit (must obtain within 90 days if applicable)
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist (must obtain within 90 days)

Physical and environmental demands

Ability to perform heavy work, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential communicable diseases, within a healthcare setting.
