About the Role

Kindred Hospital Central Tampa is a 102-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period; featuring five negative pressure rooms. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week to support your journey to wellness. Located in North Central Tampa, about five miles outside downtown.

This role conducts patient assessments to identify appropriate patients for potential admission into the system, with daily follow-up to ensure consistent clinical reassessment. You will manage referrals and admissions generated through assigned hospitals and territories, representing ScionHealth professionally while maintaining positive relationships with accounts. The position involves designing and managing marketing strategies, identifying and contacting new referral sources, and conducting educational meetings to present our specialty hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Use prospecting methods to generate leads, including personal/business contacts, sourcing expansion opportunities, and educational presentations.
• Meet monthly goals for assigned hospitals and expand the number of referral sources in your territory.
• Maintain current referral sources through relationship development and manage the admissions process as a patient ambassador.
• Operate within budgeted parameters by planning travel and monitoring expenses.
• Conduct assessments in accordance with company standards and manage the referral and admission process for patients.
• Work closely with patients and families to educate them on the benefits of ScionHealth Hospitals.
• Establish strong relationships with referral sources and successfully manage the Referral, Assessment, and Admission Process.
• Adhere to dress code, maintain a neat and clean appearance, and wear appropriate identification while on duty.
• Complete annual health, safety, and education requirements, and maintain professional growth and development.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and provide care appropriate to the patient population served.
• Report to work on time as scheduled and attend all mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Represent the organization positively and professionally, complying with all ethical business practices.
• Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital, as well as the department’s focus statement.
• Maintain current licensure/certification for the position, if applicable.
• Consistently demonstrate guest relations skills and follow departmental and hospital Health, Safety, Security, and Hazardous Materials policies.

Requirements

• Approximately 80% or more of work is performed outside the home, with daily on-site visits to assigned accounts.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Good and regular attendance is required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Daily travel is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Degree in marketing, communication, healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field strongly preferred.
• Extensive healthcare sales work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Clinical license preferred (e.g., Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN), Respiratory Therapist (RT)).
• Minimum two (2) years of former healthcare sales experience and/or two (2) years of clinical healthcare experience strongly preferred.
• Formal sales training preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers as related to LTACH benefits.
• Demonstrated competence in strategic business planning and design of marketing initiatives.
