Join our team as a Bacteriology Clinical Lab Technologist and contribute to improving health and lives.
Responsibilities
- Assess specimen acceptability based on established criteria
- Perform routine and complex testing procedures following Standard Operating Procedures
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Make technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution
- Prepare and evaluate reagents and controls
- Provide accurate, timely test results to support patient care
- Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control activities
- Manage testing supplies and assist with specimen processing
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to PPE protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related field; or meet local regulatory requirements
- Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) license
- At least 1 year of clinical testing experience or MLS degree
Skills
- Preferred certifications: ASCP, AMT, or ABB
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with computers; laboratory information systems familiarity is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass a color vision test and flexibility for shift changes
