About the role
We are seeking a Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assessing specimen acceptability and preparing samples for testing
- Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory instrumentation
- Making technical decisions and resolving testing issues
- Preparing reagents and controls, and evaluating their performance
- Reporting accurate test results promptly to support patient care
- Performing quality control, preventative maintenance, and managing supplies
- Assisting with specimen processing and maintaining a safe work environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- Microbiology MT FL State License
- Preferred: 3+ months clinical testing experience, ASCP or AMT certification
Skills
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Experience in high-volume labs, ability to work independently and in teams
- Proficiency with computers and lab information systems
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Physical capability to perform job duties and pass color blindness test
- Flexibility for overtime or shift changes based on needs
