Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Bacteriology

About the Role

A technologist in a clinical laboratory setting responsible for specimen evaluation, performing routine and complex tests, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring accurate reporting of results.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen quality per established criteria
• Perform and document testing procedures following SOPs
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot lab instruments
• Make technical decisions and resolve testing issues
• Prepare and evaluate reagents and controls
• Report timely and precise test results
• Maintain quality control and preventive maintenance
• Replenish supplies and assist with specimen processing
• Ensure a safe work environment with proper PPE

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical, Biological, or related science; Microbiology
• MT FL license
• Preferred: 3+ months clinical testing experience, ASCP or AMT certification
• Proficient in laboratory operations, data management, and lab information systems
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams, handle physical demands, and pass color blindness testing
• Flexible to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed
