About the role

The mission of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education. The Assistant Director of Clinical Education (ADCE) is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the clinical education portion of the DPT curriculum.

Responsibilities

The ADCE will have teaching, scholarship, advisement, and service responsibilities in addition to the administration of clinical education. Key responsibilities include:

  • Course management, including preparing and delivering course instruction, maintaining a conducive learning environment, and assessing student performance
  • Advising entry-level students with academic and/or personal issues
  • Setting and implementing a scholarship plan as prescribed by accreditation standards
  • Serving on programmatic and university committees as assigned
  • Developing students as clinicians in all domains of professional clinical practice and assessing student learning and performance
  • Coordinating or participating in the development of clinical education faculty and analyzing academic outcomes for compliance with accreditation standards
  • Communicating with faculty, program directors, and other stakeholders on student and curriculum information

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ADCE must have:

  • A post-professional doctoral degree (or be currently enrolled in a post-professional doctorate program)
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical practice
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice as SCCE or CI in Physical Therapy (or 2 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a Physical Therapy program)
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the campus-specific state

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily a standard office setting, with some exposure to moderate noise levels. The role involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is:

  • Instructor: $59,758-$100,394
  • Assistant Professor: $79,030-$132,710
  • Associate Professor: $88,923-$152,617
  • Professor: $97,600-$169,800
