Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary supervisor for the program’s multi-disciplinary team, including Social Service Supervisors, Case Managers, and Client Care Coordinators.
  • Provide supervision to Social Service Supervisors to address client issues and enhance their clinical case management skills.
  • Supervise Client Care Coordinators to ensure they provide supportive counseling to clients.
  • Coach, train, and develop staff members by integrating social work values into program services and using a clinical lens.
  • Oversee the supportive housing process and train staff in Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Conduct audits of the Uniform Client Chart and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Create partnerships with community agencies to provide necessary services for shelter residents.
  • Engage in community outreach and liaison activities to facilitate referrals and maximize care coordination.
  • Monitor incident follow-ups and provide direct client care and assessments during crises.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to make clinical decisions regarding client care and safety.
  • Conduct case conferences with families and participate in monthly interdisciplinary meetings for long-term stayers.
  • Liaise with ACS and attend relevant meetings, providing information as a mandated reporter when necessary.
  • Support the Program Director in preparing reports for Win and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • A current NYS LCSW or LMHC license and three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups and developing curricula.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness and substance abuse, particularly with homeless families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
