Clinical Director

About the Role

Table Rock Senior Living at Barber Station is seeking a Clinical Director to oversee the Wellness department, providing a safe, homelike environment where residents can achieve and maintain their fullest level of wellness and function. This role utilizes sound leadership principles to maintain a motivated and stable team while managing resident health and wellness through regular monitoring and communication with healthcare providers.

The Clinical Director engages in ongoing personal development in geriatric care, leadership, and communication skills. They may also assume the responsibilities of the Executive Director in their absence to ensure smooth community operations. The role ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies at all times and fosters a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for residents, employees, families, and guests.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Wellness department to ensure residents achieve and maintain their highest level of wellness and function.
• Manage resident health and wellness through regular monitoring and communication with the Wellness team, primary care providers, and other health services providers.
• Assume responsibilities of the Executive Director in their absence to maintain smooth community operations.
• Ensure compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies.
• Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for residents, employees, families, and community guests.
• Facilitate the orientation and welcoming process for new residents and team members.
• Hire, train, and supervise the Wellness team, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
• Encourage teamwork, promote the wellness philosophy, and support open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
• Lead by example to protect resident and employee safety by recognizing, reporting, and minimizing risks of accidents or injuries.
• Observe for signs of resident abuse or neglect and take immediate action to prevent harm, reporting incidents according to community policy and state laws.
• Ensure all infection control guidelines are met and appropriate tracking and surveillance procedures are followed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards set by state licensing agencies, accrediting bodies, and company policies.
• Track employee immunizations and ensure series tracking is complete.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels based on resident acuity, state regulations, contract requirements, and community budgets.
• Conduct regular in-service and team meetings.

Requirements

• Current active unencumbered nursing degree valid in the state of employment.
• Current license/certification as required by the regulatory bodies governing the community.
• Minimum of one year of experience in assisted living or healthcare.
• Prior supervisory and leadership experience in the healthcare environment (strongly preferred).
• Current CPR certification as required by the regulatory bodies governing the community.
• Any other state-specific certifications as required by the regulatory bodies governing the community.
