About the role
We are seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to direct and oversee staff providing mental health and support services to clients and their families at the Yucca Valley: Morongo Basin Crisis Walk In Center. The Clinical Director may have their own caseload in addition to oversight responsibilities, acts as liaison with external agencies, and functions on teams with other clinical and support staff. This position involves planning, implementation, monitoring, and revision of the clinical treatment program, and represents the agency to county agencies and the community. The Clinical Director may meet with clients, provide direct care and treatment, and may be involved in the client grievance process. The Clinical Director is responsible for overall facility/program management and provides direct clinical supervision of BBS licensed staff, ensuring services are in accordance with BBS standards and signs off on BBS hours.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee staff providing mental health and support services to clients and their families.
- Maintain a caseload in addition to oversight responsibilities.
- Act as liaison with external agencies and function on teams with other clinical and support staff.
- Plan, implement, monitor, and revise the clinical treatment program.
- Represent the agency to county agencies and the community.
- Meet with clients, provide direct care and treatment, and be involved in the client grievance process.
- Provide overall facility/program management.
- Provide direct clinical supervision of BBS licensed staff, ensuring services are in accordance with BBS standards and sign off on BBS hours.
Requirements
- Master's degree in family/child counseling, development or psychology, social services or professional counseling or related social science field. Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology preferred.
- BBS-licensed LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, or PhD.
- Meets agency driver eligibility criteria.
- Four (4) years of direct service experience with the mentally ill, children, adolescents, and/or adults is preferred.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Two (2) years of post-licensure experience with the ability to provide clinical supervision to registered interns/associates and/or practicum students is preferred.
- Valid California Driver's License and BLS CPR/First Aid certification are required.
Program Overview
The Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) is voluntary and offered on a 24/7 basis in an unlocked setting with a stay of up to 23 hours.
- Population Served: All age groups – children, adolescents, adults, and older adults – who need immediate access to crisis mental health services.
- Clinical Services: Rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention, providing important services to those in need of immediate crisis intervention and stabilization.
- Skills & Transition: Individuals admitted into the crisis stabilization unit will be provided with support and services to ensure their safe transition to the next level of care or back to the community.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (including on-call consultation).
