About the role
The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins is dedicated to providing comprehensive clinical care, academic excellence, and cutting-edge research. The Clinical Department Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting the clinical, academic, and research missions within a complex academic medical center environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations and analytics for the department.
- Create a transparent budget plan and develop a financial reporting plan for all faculty and non-faculty clinicians.
- Manage the long-range financial development and management of the department.
- Ensure adequate information systems development and management.
- Supervise review and selection of new facility locations.
- Work closely with others to identify, explore, negotiate, approve, and procure other practice building opportunities.
- Support the development and maintenance of faculty management information and reporting systems.
- Provide input on evaluation and planning of new clinical locations.
- Oversight of facility planning, renovations, and related contractual activities.
- Provide input on identification and development of practice expansion opportunities.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Care Administration or related field.
- Ten years of progressively responsible professional-level administrative and financial experience related to monetary or non-monetary resources of a clinical department, including financial management experience.
- Supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, MHA, MPH or other related field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Care Administration or related field.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

$127,300 - $223,000 Annually ($175,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp)
