About the role
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the Perioperative Unit, the Clinical Coordinator provides care of patients within the Pre-Op/PACU Department. This position assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing teaching, clinical supervision and evaluation of other personnel assigned to the area.
Responsibilities
- Provides direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care.
- Assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing teaching, clinical supervision and evaluation of other personnel assigned to the area.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program and 3 years of recent clinical experience.
- Minimum work experience: Three years clinical experience, preferably on the unit, which the Registered Nurse takes Clinical Coordinator responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
- American Heart Association BLS required.
- ACLS, TNCC or equivalent within 6 months.
Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least 5 surgical specialties or PACU or Endoscopy preferred.
- Prior coordinating experience preferred.
