Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Lead and direct day-to-day workflow and staffing assignments.
  • Coach, counsel, and mentor staff.
  • Participates in the interview and selection process for new hires and transfers.
  • Captures new employee department orientation.
  • Performs clinical assessments and competencies.
  • Completes and delivers probationary and annual performance evaluations.
  • Communicate timely and effectively to providers and staff to ensure coordination of care is timely and complete.
  • Aid in coordinating and facilitating integrated care delivery.
  • Address customer service concerns and engage in problem-solving to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Communicate with the Director and nursing leadership relative to escalated employee relations and patient care concerns.
  • Identify service and operational problems and issues.
  • Provide project management support to identify, research, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Compile reports as directed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all reports and patient information.
  • Consult supervisor, co-workers, or appropriate resources to solve health information questions.
  • Make sound decisions on best use of resources in support of medical center priorities and strategies.
  • Support the successful operational implementation and use of technology and New Products.
  • Perform various other office tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Graduate of a RN Training Program. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to work in a union environment. Three to five years progressive management experience in the field of expertise preferred. Five years’ experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: BLS ACLS Basic EKG certified. NIHSS Certified within 30 days of hire. Current RN license. Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment). ARC Card required (within 30 days of employment).
