Clinical Coordinator - Behavioral Health Unit

About the role

Provides leadership and clinical expertise in the Behavioral Health Unit, supporting daily operations, patient care, and staff management. Assists the nurse manager in achieving unit goals, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive work environment. Acts as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary teams and participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Leads unit operations, promotes safety, and maintains a positive work environment.
  • Supports staffing, delegation, and resource management through critical thinking and planning.
  • Participates in staff recruitment, retention, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Provides direct nursing care utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and resuscitation protocols, supporting patient-centered care across physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs.
  • Contributes to performance improvement and staff engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN required or enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 2 years.
  • Minimum two years of relevant clinical experience with demonstrated leadership and supervision skills.
  • Previous charge nurse or leadership experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; valid Ohio nursing license; current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant professional nursing certification preferred.
