About the role

This position supports the daily operations of a Behavioral Health Unit, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. It involves providing nursing care with specialized skills, assisting in staff development, and ensuring a safe, positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist nurse manager in setting unit goals and maintaining safety for staff and patients.
  • Participate in performance improvement and staff recruitment efforts.
  • Use critical thinking for staffing, resource delegation, and patient care management.
  • Support human resource functions such as coaching, staff development, and evaluation.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, promoting staff engagement and a positive work environment.
  • Provide comprehensive care addressing physical, psychological, social, and safety needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN required or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 2 years.
  • Minimum of two years relevant clinical experience with leadership capabilities.
  • Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Valid Ohio nursing license and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Relevant professional nursing certification preferred.
