Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery (Clinician Educator) CHLA

About the role

The Division of Neurosurgery, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery (Clinician Educator).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise in general pediatric neurosurgical conditions, with a focus on treating hydrocephalus.
• Contribute to the education of the next generation of pediatric neurosurgeons through an accredited pediatric neurosurgical fellowship and hosting rotating neurosurgery residents.
• Collaborate with the Division of Neurology to provide comprehensive and integrated outpatient neurologic services in a patient-centered environment.
• Participate in the integrated clinic space for the Divisions of Neurology and Neurosurgery, which opened in the Spring of 2021.
• Support the mission of the Neurological Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, serving children from newborns to young adults.

Requirements

• Strong clinical, research, and leadership experience in a children’s hospital and/or academic pediatric department affiliated with a university medical school.
• Board eligibility or certification in pediatric neurological surgery.

Qualifications

• A doctoral degree in Neurological Surgery or related field.
• Experience in pediatric neurosurgery.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Benefits

The University of Southern California offers a competitive compensation package including an annual base salary range of $580,000 - $862,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
