Client Service and Operations Support, AVP
About the role
We are seeking an AVP, Client Service and Operations Support for the Managed Account Servicing business to help grow and lead outsourced servicing capabilities for institutional asset and wealth managers providing managed accounts to affluent individuals and family trusts. This role supports a nascent operation focused on improving efficiency to enable scale for further growth, primarily in the US market. The position offers an opportunity to enhance State Street’s managed account servicing, supporting both institutional clients with wealth management operations and wealth managers themselves, aligning with strategic growth plans for State Street Wealth Services and Alpha.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily SMA operational tasks supporting multiple clients, including:
- Daily/weekly reconciliations
- New account/sponsor set-up
- Gathering requirements for reporting
- Setting up accounts in various accounting systems
- Entry of transactions, creation of sponsor-formatted files, and execution of review controls
- Conduct monthly performance activities, including:
- Checking for erroneous accounting data (e.g., missing prices, inaccurate dividends, failed transactions)
- Reconciliation to second-source performance calculations
- Research and resolution of non-routine and complex issues related to monthly performance
- Develop and execute test plans for client upgrades and strategic enhancements to performance functionality.
- Adopt AI to support growth and scale.
- Procedure development and maintenance.
- Assist with the implementation of CRIMS for compliance.
- Define requirements, testing, workflow, and solution design for existing clients, new clients, and a multi-tenant strategic Wealth platform.
- Manage and own tasks for multiple project plans.
Requirements
- Strong background in an asset servicing business, ideally with wealth management or managed accounts experience, or experience within a wealth or asset management firm providing managed account solutions.
- Proven track record defining business requirements related to system integration, workflow design, and overall business process definition.
- Charles River IMS or securities trading software experience is preferred.
- Proven institutional investment operations depth with subject matter expertise in one or more of the following core areas:
- Transaction management
- Reconciliations
- Corporate actions
- Performance measurement and attribution
- Derivatives, bank loans, and collateral management
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- High ability to collaborate with others in a matrixed organization.
- Experience with SQL and MS SQL Server.
Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $140,000 annual. The range applies to the primary location specified; if the candidate works outside this location, the applicable range may differ.
