About the Role

BNY is seeking two Project Managers to join the Client Implementation team supporting fund onboarding and client change initiatives across Alternatives and Registered Funds. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of new funds and managing client-driven changes by coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring all operational, regulatory, and technical requirements are met prior to launch. The role is available in Lake Mary, Florida or New York City and requires 4 days onsite.

Project Managers will typically oversee 3–5 client launches at a time, with a standard implementation timeline of approximately 12 weeks, although individual launches may be completed more quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client onboarding and fund conversion initiatives, coordinating the implementation of new hedge funds, alternative investments, private equity funds, and investor services platforms.
  • Manage complex projects and programs for new business, including project planning, scheduling, reporting, task tracking, issue and risk management, and maintaining implementation timelines.
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination for clients and internal stakeholders, facilitating weekly calls, status meetings, demos, and ongoing communication while proactively managing expectations and addressing changes in scope.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product, Technology, Legal, and other internal teams to ensure onboarding requirements are addressed and all stakeholders remain aligned throughout the implementation.
  • Coordinate fund documentation, contracts, account creation and validation, operational readiness, and other implementation requirements to ensure each launch is completed successfully.
  • Deploy project governance and standard tracking tools to monitor assignments, identify potential risks, escalate issues to management, and keep complex implementations on schedule.
  • Provide strategic leadership and recommendations throughout the onboarding process, ensuring a high level of project delivery quality and client satisfaction. This is a strategic, ownership-focused role where the PM is responsible for driving accountability across teams rather than completing every operational task directly.
  • Coordinate the transition from implementation to ongoing service, including formal handoff communications to the Service Director outlining what was launched and ensuring all required information is captured.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of total work experience preferred, with strong experience in project management, client implementation, onboarding, or conversion management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple implementations simultaneously.
  • Strong Excel skills for maintaining client updates, implementation checklists, task lists, and project tracking.
  • Experience working in client-facing and/or project management roles.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple internal teams and drive accountability toward shared implementation deadlines.
  • Project Management Certification is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within financial services, financial markets, or the fund industry.
  • Background in alternative investments, hedge funds, private equity, fund accounting, or investor services.
  • Experience with transfer agency or related fund operations.
  • Previous experience in client onboarding, implementation, conversion, or new business launches.
  • Experience working with titles such as Onboarding Project Manager, Implementation Project Manager, Conversion Manager, or similar roles.
  • Previous experience managing client-facing implementations involving multiple internal teams, systems, and operational dependencies.
