About the role

The Position: Located in Honesdale, PA - Wayne County Area Agency on Aging Transportation Department is seeking qualified applicants interested in expanding their administrative skills in a professional public service environment. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity supporting services that enhance the lives of individuals in the community.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

  • Consumer Intake: Complete forms, update records, and determine eligibility for transportation services
  • Reservation Support: Take reservations, enter trip details, and update information in the computer system
  • Record Maintenance: Organize consumer files, review documentation, and keep information accurate and complete
  • Trip Coordination: Enter and verify geo-codes, note special trip needs, and support adjustments for scheduling
  • Reimbursement Review: Check mileage, review self-transport requests, and verify totals for accuracy
  • Operational Assistance: Provide information, assist supervisors, and support daily transportation tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment
Work hours vary from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule includes irregular, evening, and weekend hours.
Occasional travel in and out of the county for meetings may be required.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary

In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or Completion of a high school business curriculum; or Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.
  • Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
