About the role
This position provides clerical and office support for licensure application review within the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs' (BPOA) Boards. Your work will ensure BPOA licensure operations are conducted in accordance with laws, regulations, and Board policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Examine licensure applications, validate information for accuracy and completeness, and ensure all required documents are present
- Identify if an applicant qualifies for initial, reactivation, and renewal licensure and certification based on criteria from PA laws, rules, and regulations and from Board policies
- Provide customer service through phone calls and emails; prepare and distribute discrepancy notifications to applicants not meeting requirements
- Correspond with internal staff, other boards of nursing, nursing education programs, and persons within BPOA to secure information for review
- Input application information into the licensing system and maintain updates throughout the licensure process
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% of working days, after the six month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
Pay
In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
