Join the Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill in a Clerical Assistant 2 position and help support the daily work of their Food Services Department. Responsibilities
- Phone Support: Handle calls, operate the switchboard, and distribute messages
- Document Preparation: Type and review correspondence and reports for accuracy
- Scheduling Tasks: Organize appointments, meetings, and videoconferences
- Record Management: Maintain filing systems and update databases and spreadsheets
- Office Coordination: Compile activity records, manage supplies, and track reports
- General Duties: Perform tasks such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and organizing emails
Schedule
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position does not offer telework options.
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).
Requirements
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Qualifications
- Must possess keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
- Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
- Ability to work with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, and personal communication devices.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to stand and operate document scanning machines.
