Responsibilities

  • Data Entry: Input information into automated systems, ensuring compliance with established rules.
  • Application Processing: Receive, register, and route applications according to procedures.
  • Clearance Review: Interpret documents and record results to complete required clearances.
  • Public Interaction: Greet visitors, manage appointments, and provide basic information courteously.
  • Mail Handling: Sort, scan, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and related materials.
  • File Management: Maintain, organize, and retrieve case records in both paper and electronic formats.

Work Schedule and Conditions

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week, with work hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 1-hour lunch. Travel and overtime may be required. Duties are performed in a controlled office environment, with potential reassignments to different work sites in counties with District Offices. Telework may be eligible part-time, subject to specific conditions and approval.

Qualifications

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal Government job title) or graduation from high school, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet PA residency requirements, with hiring preference for Lehigh County residents.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions and pass a background investigation.
