As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Allegheny County Assistance Office – Alle-Kiski, you will be a key part of helping the office deliver timely and effective services. Responsibilities
- Complete registration steps, scan documents, resolve discrepancies, and enter updates
- Sort, date stamp, scan, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Purge records, pack case files for storage, and maintain organized systems
- Answer inquiries, take detailed messages, and direct calls appropriately
- Welcome visitors, gather information, maintain logs, and support front desk activities
- Update cases, benefits, budgets, and forms based on staff instructions
Schedule
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Kensington, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
Requirements
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
You must meet the PA residency requirement. Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports and you must pass a background investigation.
