Class A Shuttle Driver Trainee

The Shuttle Driver Trainee-DOT role in Miami, OK trains to perform pickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and return empty trailers for reloading back to the warehouse. You will train to perform as a safe and courteous shuttle driver, demonstrating Ben E. Keith principles during interactions with the public and customers. Maintaining cleanliness of tractors/trailers, adhering to FMCSA laws and regulations, and ensuring equipment is adequately fueled are key responsibilities. Occasionally, you may complete deliveries to customers to/from the warehouse or shuttle site as needed.

Responsibilities

• Train to perform pickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and return empty trailers for reloading.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving while adhering to Ben E. Keith principles.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractors and trailers used during shifts.
• Adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Ensure tractors and trailers are adequately fueled and maintain fuel levels.
• Occasionally complete deliveries to customers as needed.
• Work outside in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
• Lift and move dolly tongues and cases weighing up to 90 pounds occasionally.

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. Dash cameras with artificial intelligence are used to monitor safe driving, capture safety events, and improve driver performance. Videos may also be used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a consent form upon hire.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
• At least 6 months of DOT driving experience required.
• Valid Class A CDL with Doubles endorsement.
• Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret rules, guidelines, operating, and maintenance instructions.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn internal applications (e.g., On-Board Computer and Proof of Delivery equipment).
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
