About the role
As a Shuttle Driver, you will transport empty trailers to Operating Company warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring safe and timely transport in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, and perform any assigned duties to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure equipment meets company safety standards and report any issues or repairs needed.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report all safety hazards.
- Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight; ensure all required route paperwork is available upon dispatch.
- Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedules; perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
- Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas; ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and secured.
- Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork upon return to base facility.
- Unload equipment and materials; remove trash from trailers as required.
- Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Valid CDL A with Doubles and Triples endorsement.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight weighing approximately 60 to 90 pounds throughout the shift.
- Must reside in Phoenix, AZ.
Schedule
Sunday - Wednesday, 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Pay
Up to $75,000 per year.
