Claims Coordinator

About the role
Drive accurate financial operations and exceptional customer account management as a Claims Coordinator. In this role, you will partner closely with customers, brokers, sales teams, and internal departments to research payment activity, obtain supporting documentation, resolve deductions, and ensure customer accounts are maintained accurately. You will play a key role in applying customer payments, managing residual items, processing credit and debit memos, and supporting efficient claims resolution. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem solving, collaborating across teams, and identifying process improvements that help reduce claim-related issues and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manually apply cash for assigned customer accounts on a daily basis. Ensure cash is applied accurately and timely.
- Obtain payment and deduction backup from customers, brokers, or sales representatives.
- Create residual items using the proper reason code.
- Create credit and debit memos to clear residual items and maintain billing blocks until approval is received.
- Enter detailed text to support sales representative review and maintain an accurate audit trail for future inquiries.
- Clear approved miscellaneous deductions using the proper General Ledger and Cost Center numbers.
- Highlight issues and trends to the Claims Supervisor and Claims Analyst.
- Recommend solutions to reduce the occurrence of errors that lead to customer claims.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 - 2 years of related work experience.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
- Effectively communicate with customers, brokers, and sales representatives to obtain required documentation.
- Remain well organized and coordinate the claims management process across multiple groups and departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.

Pay
This position has a target wage of $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on shift, experience, and qualifications, with an annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.
