Claims Associate

About the Opportunity

Shift: Day
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm
Setting: Onsite

Responsibilities

• Review resolved classified PPD cases for settlement consideration and related follow-up
• Negotiate Section 32 settlements with attorneys, subject to supervision approval
• Maintain claim reserves, process payments, and prepare status updates for internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate alive and well checks, medical follow-up, and other claim-related actions as needed
• Support active workers' compensation claims by reviewing case information, filing forms, and managing investigations to resolution

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Workers' Compensation Examiner
• Working knowledge of New York Workers' Compensation forms and laws
• Experience with claim reserves and claims file documentation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Ability to manage a high volume of claims and detailed case records

Desired Skills

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
• Experience with FileHandler or similar Claims Management Systems
• Background as a Paralegal
• Familiarity with Workers' Compensation medical management and settlement processes
