Primary Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for positions including Project Engineers, Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, and skilled craft professionals within water/wastewater construction.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, project pipelines, and required skillsets.
- Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies using job boards, networking, industry associations, and direct outreach.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future project needs.
- Conduct candidate screenings, interviews, and assessments to evaluate technical qualifications, cultural fit, and project alignment.
- Cook up and facilitate interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
- Lead offer process including compensation discussions, approvals, and closing candidates.
- Track candidate activity and maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Provide market insights related to talent availability, compensation trends, and competitor activity.
- Represent the company at career fairs, industry events, and college recruiting initiatives.
- Support employer branding efforts to position the company as a top employer in the civil construction industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Five (5) years minimum of recruiting experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or a related industry.
- Experience recruiting for civil, infrastructure, or water/wastewater projects strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction roles, project structures, and terminology.
- Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with ATS platforms (e.g., Dayforce, iCIMS, Workday, etc.), Handshake, and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to influence hiring decisions and guide managers through the recruiting process.
