About the role
As a Civil Engineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Monroeville, PA office, you will be responsible for client and project management, including the technical and financial management aspects of projects. You will also have the opportunity to participate in business development activities with senior leaders.
Responsibilities
- Client and project management, including the technical and financial management aspects of projects
- Represent the company at conferences, events, project meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders
- Work closely with other CEC professionals locally and across the country to build business relationships, maintain client relationships, and apply best practices to address client needs
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand and help them achieve their goals
- Work closely with your Principal and junior staff to develop project schedules, assemble a project team, and assign tasks for the project, often times coordinating with several practices (i.e. survey, geotechnical, traffic, environmental, ecological, and other practices)
- Maintain involvement throughout the design of the project, mentoring junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning, design, permitting, and execution of projects, and conduct technical reviews of client deliverables
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant design and permitting experience, including earth disturbance and stormwater permits, and the municipal approval process
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related degree
- Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.) preferred
- Civil design and permitting experience related to site layout, grading, stormwater, and erosion and sediment control is required
- Familiarity with the Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or Ohio regional marketplace environmental regulatory agencies and active engagement in trade organizations
Qualifications
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multi-discipline projects. For example, a project that includes survey, environmental, geotechnical, and construction phase services
- Ability and desire to mentor junior staff
