Position Details

Brief Position Overview
The Civil Engineering Department at Montana State University is seeking professionals to serve as Instructors in various Civil Engineering disciplines.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Teach on-campus and/or online courses.
  • Advise, evaluate, and assist students.
  • Participate in curriculum and/or course development.
  • Contribute positively and professionally to the academic success of students and the mission of Montana State University.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant degree and experience in Civil Engineering (including sub-disciplines).
  • Significant, long-term direct professional experience and substantial insight into the theory and practice of the field or discipline of teaching responsibility.
  • Currency in area of teaching responsibility.
  • Previous teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong interest in student success and commitment to quality teaching.
  • Able to work professionally and effectively with individuals from all backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to contribute positively to the academic success of students and the mission of Montana State University.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information

  • The position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.
  • Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU).
