Civil Engineer In Training (EIT)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations for civil engineering design projects.
• Aid in the preparation of plans, details, specifications, and bidding documents.
• Occasionally draft in support of design projects.
• Coordinate with agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals.
• Prepare and route project-related correspondence and record-keeping.
• Using advanced knowledge, write and edit construction specifications and engineering reports.
• Absorb and calculate construction bid quantities from plans and specifications.
• Exercise discretion and judgment in all work tasks.

Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field by May 2027 required.
• Previous engineering internship or co-op experience desired.
• An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, or the ability to pass the FE exam within 12 months of employment.
• Excellent written and communication skills and strong math and science skills.
• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Bluebeam, and Project software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D is highly desirable.
• Ability to prioritize special projects and daily workload to ensure timely and efficient completion.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if required.
