About the role
J+M Infrastructure seeks a skilled Civil Construction Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. Located in Charlottesville and the Lynchburg, VA area, we offer opportunities to work on diverse construction projects including demolition, clearing, excavation, asphalt paving, concrete work, water mains, sewer and storm drainage.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment including Trackhoe, Backhoe, Dozer, End Dump, Skid Steers, Wheel and Track Loader, Mini Excavator, and Roller.
- Assist with new construction projects.
- Perform tasks such as clearing, excavation, asphalt paving, concrete work, water mains, sewer and storm drainage.
- Read and follow blueprints and specifications.
- Lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical labor.
- Climb ladders and work at heights.
- Work occasionally on Saturdays.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience preferred in civil engineering field.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs, squat, and climb ladders.
- Virginia resident.
- Leader looking to grow.
- Pass drug test/screening.
- Available to work occasional Saturdays.
- Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
- Concrete experience preferred.
- Pipe laying experience preferred.
