Join the dynamic team at Universal CityWalk as a Bartender, where you’ll manage the daily operations of a bar in a fast-paced and guest-facing environment. Responsibilities

  • Moves with a sense of urgency by processing guests’ food and beverage orders and upselling products.
  • Pours wine and serves draft and bottled beer, in addition to mixing drinks and beverages to recipe.
  • Checks identification of guests to ensure that they are of legal drinking age.
  • Complies with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Operates cash registers, collects payments from guests, and returns change.
  • Practices proper cash handling procedures by addressing the point-of-sale system after every transaction, properly organizing money, counting change back to guests, and following appropriate cash out procedures.
  • Maintains work areas by organizing and cleaning bar, tables, and service well.
  • Pre-busses tables and bar top as needed of used glassware, plate ware, silverware, etc.
  • Completes all opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Manages bar operation and orders and maintains liquor and bar supplies throughout the shift.
  • Adheres to any opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down the venue, as scheduled.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized bar area.
  • Preps fruit garnishes, stocks, cleans, puts away product, or discards waste as needed.
  • Promotes and provides extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answers questions, offers information, and provides assistance in a courteous manner.
  • Understands and demonstrates the proper use of safety practices and ensures department standards are maintained and safety policies are upheld.
  • Balances cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, integrity, and adherence to established cash-handling procedures.
  • Provides excellent customer service by assisting guests with inquiries, resolving complaints, and addressing concerns related to cash transactions while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Collaborates with team members and management to ensure a compliant, efficient, and secure cash-handling process in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests of all ages, following all company guidelines and protocols.
  • Identifies, de-escalates, and resolves conflicts or disturbances professionally and effectively to maintain a positive atmosphere.
  • Provides a positive and welcoming experience for guests of all ages while maintaining composure during difficult interactions.
  • Maintains a high level of trust and integrity to promote a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues of all ages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Valid California Food Handler certification required before the first day.
  • Previous Bartender experience preferred.

Pay

$19 per hour + tips
