About the Role
The City Desk Representative supports the operation functions of the city desk. Responsibilities include entering orders, filling orders, processing returns, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked City Desk display area, managing vendor catalogs and price sheets, reporting "stock outs," and maintaining assigned inventory stock locations.

Responsibilities
- Provides customer service functions including order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, and technical assistance.
- Manages Will Call and other functions as needed.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and well-stocked City Desk display area, including displaying specials and promotional items.
- Maintains vendor catalogs and price sheets.
- Informs proper departments of "stock outs," inventory discrepancies, and other inventory concerns.
- Maintains assigned inventory stock locations, ensuring correct locators and neat, orderly shelves.
- Abides by all safety requirements, including wearing required PPE gear.
- Participates in marketing planning and strategy for Border States product lines as needed.
- Assists with the implementation and success of marketing plans.
- Attends sales meetings and stays current on new products and applications.
- Assists with receiving, shipping, and other warehouse functions as required.
- Ensures all batched managed material is labeled accurately and inventoried.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
Requirements
- Minimum of a 2-year business/trade degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of prior warehouse, city desk, and/or sales experience with good knowledge of electrical products or systems preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), internet, email, and SAP software preferred.

Lift and Carry Requirements (weight and frequency):
- Occasionally (0 – 33%): Lift from floor to waist up to 100 lbs; above waist lift up to 75 lbs; unilateral carry up to 25 lbs; bilateral carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently (34 – 66%): Standing, walking, reaching, balancing, pushing/pulling, handling, talking, hearing, exposure to adverse weather/temperature conditions.
- Continuously (67 – 100%): Walking, desk work, use of tools, fingering, talking.
