About the role
The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks qualified applicants for the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education to teach and provide content expertise in reading education. Opportunities may be on grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia or online during the Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters.
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level courses in reading education or related fields.
- Teach undergraduate courses in reading education or related fields.
- Show a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
- Have previous preK-12 and post-secondary education teaching experience in reading education.
- Detail specific content area expertise and experience within reading education in your cover letter.
- Note availability for in-person and/or online teaching modalities.
Requirements
- Terminal degree (PhD; EdD) in Education specializing in reading education or a related field for graduate-level course instructors.
- Master’s degree or terminal degree specializing in reading education or a related field for undergraduate course instructors.
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to teaching excellence.
- Previous preK-12 and post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different teaching modalities.
