About the role

The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks qualified applicants to teach and provide content expertise in special education. Opportunities may be on grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia and/or online during the Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level courses in special education or related fields.
  • Teach undergraduate courses in special education or related fields.
  • Provide content expertise in special education.
  • Show a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Have previous PreK-12 or post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area.

Requirements

  • For graduate-level course instructors: Terminal degree (PhD; EdD) in Education specializing in special education or a related field.
  • For undergraduate course instructors: Master’s degree or terminal degree specializing in special education or a related field.

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Previous PreK-12 or post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to teach in-person, online, and/or hybrid modalities.

Pay

This is an at-will position for teaching a single course and does not carry benefits.
