About the role

The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks applicants to teach and provide content expertise for programs in the Department of Educational Leadership, Foundations and Policy during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Teach master’s and doctoral level courses in Administration and Supervision, Education Policy, Higher Education, Research, Statistics and Evaluation, and Social Foundations.
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Educational Psychology – Applied Developmental Science.
  • Have a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD) in a discipline related to the course for master’s and doctoral level courses.
  • Have a doctorate or master’s degree in a discipline related to the course for undergraduate courses.
  • Have previous K-12, higher education teaching experience, and/or career experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.
  • Use a learning management system (i.e., Canvas) and be familiar with such systems.

Remote delivery of instruction (both synchronous and asynchronous) is available.

Pay

This is an at-will faculty wage position which does not carry benefits. Most hires are made for part-time appointments.

Schedule

Instructional openings for the fall semester are typically filled in June and July and instructional needs for the spring are typically filled in November and December.
