FLSA status: Non-Exempt. Returning retirees earn approximately 9% below the listed hourly rate, never below minimum wage.

Assist the Childcare Specialist with planning and running the before- and after-school program, and supervise children.

Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and the community.
Prepare the site and activities before children arrive.
Supervise children at all times.
Administer first aid when necessary.
Treat every child with respect and enforce behavior consistent with district and program policy.
Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
Participate in clean-up activities.
Complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually, per Department of Health Services regulations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Must meet staff qualifications to be a teacher-caregiver under Arizona Administrative Code section R9-5-401.
Must be 18 years of age or older and provide written documentation of one of the following:
- A high school diploma or equivalency and six months of qualifying childcare experience; or
- At least 12 college credits (including 6 in early childhood education) and six months of qualifying childcare experience; or
- An N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Department of Public Safety.
Background in early childhood education or related fields.
Current first aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Reaching, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; sitting most of the time with only occasional walking or standing.
