Login Now CHIEF PEDIATRICIAN Full Time/Part Time Regular Part Time Total Hours Per Week 20 From Salary $140.00 To Salary $175.00 Job Summary: As a member of the Clinic team, the Chief Pediatrician is responsible for the initial, periodic, and episodic pediatric evaluation and treatment of the children in the foster care program and is the clinical supervisor of all healthcare providers in the Article 29I Medical Unit. Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical services to children and youth in foster care, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with clinical standards, organizational policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Perform physical and developmental screening on children admitted to the foster care programs. Perform periodic, discharge, and AWOL medical evaluations.Perform physical evaluation and treatment for children with episodic illnesses. Complete school/daycare/camp forms with necessary information.Establish a problem list with appropriate treatment plans for families, case workers, and other health care providers. Assure accurate follow-up of high-risk children for health assessment and instructions to biological, foster families and/or appropriate staff. Assist social workers/ foster parents/birth parents in setting priorities in developing plans: health promotional, preventive or care services to children based upon immediate and long-range therapeutic goals. Assist in further development of the clinic. Provide medical team members and other agency personnel, training regarding pediatric health care issues. Participate in multidisciplinary members in achieving optimal health status for all children. Work cohesively with other department members to achieve annual department goals. Assist in performing and supervising laboratory tests when appropriate. Assume responsibility for own professional growth. Promote and maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families. Complete all medical necessity forms within 30 days of placement.Compensation will be provided based on services rendered and the applicable fee schedule Education & Experience NYS Board Certified or Board Eligible Physician, Licensed in NYS.Ten (10) years of experience in pediatric care for high-risk children and families.Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.Knowledge of Foster care, healthcare requirements, and the unique complex needs of the foster care population. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.May be required to lift up to 25 pounds or more.Required to commute to other agency locations as needed.
