Chicago, Philadelphia – Intellectual Property Disputes (Life Sciences) Associate

About the role

We seek an associate with 3-5 years of large law firm experience to join our intellectual property disputes practice. Our team offers a supportive environment with opportunities for professional development and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex patent matters, including Hatch-Waxman, biosimilars, and other pharmaceutical patent litigation.
• Prepare and review legal documents, including briefs, motions, and pleadings.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law and statutes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for resolving disputes.
• Present arguments and evidence in court and before administrative bodies.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions.

Requirements

• A master’s degree or Ph.D. in molecular biology, cellular biology, or biochemistry is preferred but not required.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Active membership in the bar of the state where the Morgan Lewis office is located.

Qualifications

• Experience in intellectual property disputes, particularly in Hatch-Waxman, biosimilars, or other pharmaceutical patent litigation.
• Strong academic record, typically including a law degree and relevant coursework.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
