About the role

This role is for a junior to midlevel associate with 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience in computational biology. You will advise clients on IP and transactional matters related to Next Generation Sequencing, precision diagnostics, digital health, and AI-assisted drug discovery.

Responsibilities

- Advise biotech, pharmaceutical, and digital health clients on IP and transactional matters. - Translate complex scientific concepts into strategic legal guidance for patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management. - Prepare for and pass the patent bar exam within the first 12 months of employment.

Requirements

- A Ph.D. in computational biology or a life sciences discipline. - Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number). - Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

- Active bar membership in the state of the Morgan Lewis office for which you are applying.

Pay

- For CA, IL, MA, WA, and Washington, DC: Salary range is $235,000 to $310,000. - For CA, IL, MA, WA: Base salary or hourly wage range will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors.

Schedule

- At-will position with the firm's right to modify base salary and other discretionary payments or compensation programs at any time.
