About the role
If your idea of sales management is sitting behind a desk all day, watching screens, and waiting for consultants to bring you deals, do not apply. This position requires active leadership on the showroom floor. We're looking for a competitive leader who enjoys teaching, creates an exceptional customer experience, and takes ownership of the team's success. Maybe you were an athlete, a team captain, or always wanted to coach. Bring that mindset: preparation, energy, accountability, and the drive to help others win. An athletic background is welcome; demonstrated leadership is what matters.
Responsibilities
- Be on the floor leading by example. Greet customers, build relationships, and stay involved throughout their buying experience.
- Work opportunities alongside your consultants. Review their pipeline, identify the next action, and help move each customer toward a purchase.
- Make customer calls together. Sit with consultants, demonstrate effective conversations, help secure appointments, and teach them how to improve.
- Coach one-on-one. Review hot deals, active negotiations, maturing leases, prospecting lists, and daily work plans. Turn those reviews into action.
- Help close car deals. Get involved, ask questions, address objections, and help customers make confident buying decisions.
- Create an experience worth returning for. Make customers feel welcomed, valued, and supported from their first interaction through delivery and follow-up.
- Train every day. Use role-playing, product training, and real customer interactions to build skills. Give new hires the mentorship they need to succeed.
- Own the sales process. Lead manager introductions, Mid-T.O.s, and Final T.O.s. Ensure proper needs analysis, vehicle presentations, demonstration drives, and follow-up.
- Drive accountability and results. Track sales goals, CRM activity, appointments, and customer satisfaction. Address gaps with clear expectations and specific coaching.
- Follow through on the details. Help resolve customer concerns, clear outstanding paperwork and funding issues, and keep inventory ready to sell.
- Support the entire team. Work with fellow managers, provide coverage, and maintain a professional showroom and lot.
Requirements
- Lead through action: approachable, competitive, organized, and comfortable holding people accountable because you hold yourself accountable first.
- Enjoy developing people: can demonstrate the skill, explain the reason behind it, and work alongside someone until they improve.
- Show up on time, prepared to lead. Manager start time is 8:15 a.m. or earlier.
- Automotive sales management experience is valued.
- Proven automotive sales professionals ready to step into leadership are also encouraged to apply.
- Your office is the showroom floor. Your responsibility is to develop your people, elevate the customer experience, and help your team sell cars.
