About the role
The Chest Radiologist – Section Head position at Ochsner Health is a key member of the Cardiothoracic Radiology Section. Reporting to the Section Chief, this role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the section, collaborating with other departments, and maintaining high standards of patient care.Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Cardiothoracic Radiology Section
- Collaborate with Pulmonary Medicine, Thoracic Surgery, the Cancer Service Line, and Cardiology
- Maintain and develop relationships with these departments through regular meetings and conferences
- Manage lung screening program and congenital heart surgical program in partnership with Pediatric Radiology
- Support interventional cardiology program for TAVR
- Participate in remote reading opportunities
- Offer flexible work arrangements including the option for no-call days and weekend shifts at some locations
- Engage in the radiology residency program at Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans
Requirements
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Radiology
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Chest Radiology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of chest imaging
- Proven leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in interpreting chest X-rays and CT scans
- Knowledge of interventional radiology techniques
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
