About the Role
The Production Operator is a key member of the CF Industries team, playing a major role in achieving safety excellence, environmental compliance, and maximizing production. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the production process and associated equipment, with a significant impact on personal safety, emergency preparedness, and response performance at the facility. This role requires working 12-hour rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Champion the pursuit of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), implementing safety procedures, identifying hazards, and communicating findings.
- Operate valves and instruments to adjust fluid levels, flows, temperatures, pressures, and speeds, and control startups/shutdowns of mechanical equipment.
- Make process adjustments via instrumentation, equipment, or chemical additions to maintain processes within operational tolerances.
- Investigate unusual process or mechanical situations and take or recommend corrective action.
- Achieve and maintain competency in all operator functions of the assigned production area, including process monitoring and control, and assist in training less experienced operators.
