Job Summary

The Chemical Operator is responsible for manufacturing chemical products while ensuring compliance with company policies. Key responsibilities include:

• Incorporating safety and quality into every decision
• Effectively communicating with Supervisor and peers
• Operating chemical processes and equipment to produce quality products
• Seeking out and implementing process improvements
• Maintaining excellent communication skills
• Performing daily walk-throughs and audits
• Completing quality assurance checks and certificates of compliance
• Maintaining and reporting on plant equipment
• Completing shift reports and paperwork
• Working overtime and changing shifts as required

Roles And Responsibilities

The Chemical Operator oversees the safe and efficient operation of plant processes and equipment. Key duties include:

• Overseeing the safe transfer of hazardous chemicals
• Wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment
• Developing and applying process improvements
• Communicating with Supervisor and peers about process status
• Ensuring finished products meet specifications
• Completing Certificates of Compliance for loaded trailers
• Completing paperwork such as batch sheets, run sheets, and shift reports
• Maintaining and communicating in Daily Management practices
• Performing physical labor and changing shifts as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Planning skills to prioritize daily operations
• Paying attention to detail
• Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and equipment
• Dependability and flexibility
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to obtain Fork Lift certification within 30 days of hiring
• Ability to learn the chemical operator position within 60 days of hiring

Essential Functions

• Participate in site respirator program and pass Spirometry test
• Lift up to 75 lbs. throughout the shift
• Stand for 80% of the shift
• Traverse the site to various buildings
• Traverse ship ladders, catwalks, and close quarters
• Work at elevated platforms without hesitation or fear
• Work inside confined spaces as needed
