Operator, Chemical Operations

About the role

This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work in a safe and controlled manner, adhering to safety and environmental policies
• Use proper personal protection equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, face shields, flash suits, and personal environmental monitors
• Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Nutrien, OSHA, MSHA, and MARSEC guidelines
• Work as part of a team to complete assignments and minimize downtime
• Support continuous improvement as a productive team member
• Cross-train and work in all areas of the facility, as needed
• Perform work from elevated structures, ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and man-baskets
• Follow all safety rules and regulations set forth by the company
• Work a 12-hour rotating shift
• Load or unload products from rail cars
• Work in/on catwalks, confined spaces, and at heights

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) testing required; minimum scores of 4 in Graphic Literacy, 5 in Applied Mathematics, and 5 in Workplace Documents
• NCRC must be uploaded with your resume during application
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as process flow diagrams and equipment manuals
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to wear required, company-provided PPE, including uniforms, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and emergency breathing apparatus
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be clean-shaven for safety reasons

Pay

Starting rate of $27.48 per hour (plus available overtime). The salary range for this role in Aurora, NC is $27.48 - $43.14 per hour. Hourly rates progress based on On-Job-Training, formal learning, and observation of new skills over a specified time period.
