This Staff Accountant position is responsible for monitoring general accounting practices and implementing internal accounting controls to ensure accurate and timely financial statements while addressing tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for accounting for hotels, leased spaces, corporate apartments, and condo units
• Respond to disputes and chargebacks in a timely manner
• Assist with vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements
• Generate monthly and weekly reports
• Prepare and reconcile hotel taxes
• Perform cashier audits
• Prepare hotel, commercial, and HOA cash deposits
• Prepare payroll reports and calculate tips and gratuities
• Reconcile credit card transactions across entities
• Prepare daily PMS vs POS reconciliation
• Track and submit travel pass reporting
• Audit package accounting
• Review income journal for accuracy
• Prepare adjustments and discounts package for senior management
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions
• Perform monthly and quarterly bank activities accurately and timely
• Support budget and forecasting activities
• Respond to inquiries from senior management regarding financial results and special reporting requests
• Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and features to enhance department workflow
• Support special projects and workflow process improvements
